Duolingo Learn Many Languages for Free App Reviews

I love it how with the app Im able to keep up with the practices better! One improvement I would suggest is adding the discussions/comments from the internet version to the app, youve no idea how much those help with understanding of why you got something wrong. Thanks. New: Recently Ive been unable to use the "practice" feature at the top right corner. I hit it then it lets me do a few questions, but never finish it. I encounter a question eventually and it just exits, forcing me to start again. Please fix this bug!

Toxic. Climbed onto the bandwagon and so much the worse for it. What a terrible pity. I loved you, Duolingo. Couldnt you have gone another route?

Ive been using this app for about eight months. When I first got it it was perfectly fine, then they added the heart system. The bots are cool, so are the clubs, and they make the languages easy to learn. But the ads and the hearts!!! I havent used it in about a month for these reasons. If they took away the life system and the ads after EVERY LESSON, Id start using it more often.

This used to be a great app. But now I cant enjoy it. Any mistake and you run out of health and have to either wait until your health comes back up or buy gems so you can continue. No thanks. Ridiculous and not conducive to learning

Yet again another good app ruined by greed. If you want to better monetise your service, create some new added value, dont degrade the existing features with stupid shenanigans to hope to line your pockets. Your long-time users and customers will be extremely put off by that.

A poor teacher tells you that youre wrong, but fails to explain why. Thats exactly what this is. Its frustrating that it never explains the grammatical context of your mistakes. It throws phrases at you to translate without ever telling you what they mean. The heart system is weak. The android version is exponentially better. If the devs actually read this, learn how to program better. Youre not good at your jobs. Google is a better teacher. That says a lot.

Used to love this app. The health system is a big issue and can cause you to stop being able to learn. You can go back and "practice" precious lessons and it makes you think you can gain health back, based on the picture of the heart on the button, but it doesnt actually give you any more health. Also, when beginning a new section it expects you to know the new words without being taught so when you mess up, because you havent learned the word, you lose a health bar. Poor development of this app.

The health meter is horrible! How exactly am I supposed to learn a new language if you give just a handful of chances to get it perfect? You need to give more chances! I am going to look for another language learning app.

I didnt have this app before any updates so I cant compare it to past versions like the other people here, but as far as Im concerned its helping me learn German, which is something that not even my school has available. So yeah, for me its great.

I love this app but the only problem I have with it is that Ive been on 1% fluency for like 3 months

Please add Mandarin!!!! Its the most spoken language in the world!!!!! I was surprised when I didnt see it on the app.

Please add all languages because I would like to learn others besides Spanish etc.

I use this app to learn French and Spanish and it is so helpful. I love that you can be in a club and share your progress. But, I hate the health bar system. It gets annoying how it prevents you to continue the lesson when you run out of health. People are being babies about the ads; theres only one after each lesson and you can choose to watch an ad to refill one bar of your health. But I like this app !

I dont like the idea of limited health. For us who dont challenge others and are trying to actually learn languages now may run out of health after only two lessons. It does not help learn the language.

Im glad they added Japanese, it works perfectly. But when I do cluck on the sound, it doesnt sound right to the options or they sound like another option but its wrong. And the Spanish lessons keep messing up with my progress. Ill complete all the lessons and the bubble with be gold, I close the app or change to a different lesson, it wipes the last lesson I did and takes away the gold. Last time it did it to 4 of my gold bubbles and Im kinda mad because I wont be able to progress without their completion.

Its a great app. I absolutely love how theyve recently added the fluency icon on top. It works great for beginners in my opinion (since Im still not advanced in the language Im learning I cant say how effective it is at a higher level of difficulty).

Im moving to Spain in a year and I need this so I can learn as much Spanish as I can in a year or I wont be to good in school but every time I play I accidentally spell something wrong or press continue on accident please if I dont learn enough my classmates and teachers will have a hard time talking to me!So please just fix it!
