The advertisements allowed on this app are so bad. The Hungarian language needs a serious overhaul.
It’s helping me with my Spanish and I’m getting better at it everyday and I’m really happy that I heard of this app
I am an 83 yr learner. I am taking Spanish. There are practices of word matching outside the lessons. One only earns points for getting all within a time frame. My eyes don’t work fast enough with the time allocated so I never earn the points. Change the approach please. Let students earn points for whatever they’ve done. Stop this all or nothing. Let me practice and earn points for what I can do.
I have tried a few of the less popular courses (focusing on Irish and Czech). It’s very frustrating to run into a new grammatical construct and have to guess what the rule is. Irish has a lot of lenition and eclipsis rules, for example, and it doesn’t even mention noun gender either, which does exist in Irish and changes declensions. I have a similar experience with the Czech course where rules are not taught properly for say, plurals. The only reason I can continue these is I have other resources open to reference (textbooks, dictionaries, websites). The app seems to sell itself as sufficient to learn basics, but it is absolutely not for these languages. If that is the goal, then the app should be up front about it. Other problems are: it does not uniformly drill the recently learned words, there seems to be no way to filter the vocabulary list to isolate those words or a custom subset of words, audio quality is inconsistent, and no information is given about the language being taught (including dialects, tonal-ness, any tips that will help English speakers learn, etc.). That said, I do appreciate the actual voices and the sentence annotations.
I had to revise my initial 5 star for being an amazing and fun language learning app for free… but the new ‘explain my mistake’ button being a premium feature? The insane amount of ads I can put up with. The myriad of cool features that are premium I can put up with because it’s free. But how are you going to not explain a concept I can’t understand unless I pay money? I’m disabled and broke, so that’s not gonna happen.
It’s very easy app to use.
thanks duolingo i learned spanish but please stop pushing me😭
I heard this app doesn’t make you pay to learn but it made me do a free trial and after that I would have to pay
Super fun and easy to learn.
I love Duolingo. In just a month, I have learned so much and I never let it down because I always do my streak. It’s so exciting and I look forward to doing it every day. This is one of a kind app. I definitely recommend it.
It helped me learn Chinese in just a week and help me learn simple phrases
Duolingo is not just learning languages, but you can learn math and music. Also, it teaches you in a way that makes you motivated to do it more. The lessons are easy and get harder as you progress. I 100% suggest it. 👍👍👍
I love Duolingo! It makes learning fun but still teaches me tons of new skills!💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
This is so banana but pls dont take my family i forgor to do my lesson
I subscribe to Duolingo’s normal plan, but since the AI boom they’ve added Duo MAX. DuoMAX is AI driven drivel for conversations that don’t work well, scenario roleplay, and explanations for why you got something wrong. This would be fine as a new feature and an optional subscription, but now they keep shoving more and more MAX things where they had no business. Practice button was moved to a sub-menu and replaced with DuoMAX video call, and it reminds you whenever you hit it to make sure you subscribe. Next they’ve added an “Upgrade to DuoMAX Family” button on the same bar that serves no purpose but to be an advertisement for the AI garbage subscription tier. Any faith I had in them of generating a working and useful app is disappearing quite quickly. They’ve gone from teaching languages to maximizing profits for their shareholders that trade DUOL.
Y'all need to put Nigerian On here need to go to Africa or Congo
I love this app but I hate the ads for super every second it makes me want to delete the app but I love it
I know it's trying to help but it's actually unmotivating to have to do that. I feel more motivated to start a new streak. I understand if i got a freeze. But i missed multiple days after i ran out of freezes and it still is trying to save the streak. How is that going to help me progress tbh?
I’ve been facing significant difficulties using the app on my iPhone, and unfortunately, these problems remain unresolved despite the numerous positive reviews it has received. Every time I try to log in or sign up, I encounter the same frustrating message: “not connecting to the server.” I’ve meticulously followed all the troubleshooting steps provided by Apple and Duolingo, yet the issue persists. It’s disheartening to see that this fundamental problem continues to affect my experience with the app. I’m left wondering why such a critical issue hasn’t been addressed, especially considering that the app is available for download on the App Store. If it’s not fully supported for Apple users, it raises concerns about its availability. I’ve also read through various comments across different platforms where users argue that the fault lies with individuals rather than the app itself. However, I can personally attest that this is not a user error, as I’ve had several friends download the app only to encounter the same connectivity issues. This recurring problem is frustrating and should prompt a reassessment of the app's functionality for Apple users.
I used Duolingo because I wanted to learn a new language and now I can speak to others learning a new language never was easier. You could also make friends on Duolingo and learn with your friends too! I definitely recommend
This helps me get my Spanish. I love it.
Duolingo is a very good game. I love everything! I just hate the super Duolingo ads, Max ads, and that the piano is 249 dollars.
Keeps bugging me to pay for super Duolingo
It’s really nice to learn more chinese than when I aready speak Chinese I don’t know how to read Chinese or write
Hi, I do music lessons and my opinion is that there is NOT enough practice. I put 5 stars so people can see this but I give it 3 stars. I rage quit and when you are doing the final song the people do weird faces and things and that distracts me. PS-I don’t want an answer where you are like, please go to blah blah blah. Com. No, please fix this it is getting on my nerves and I almost deleted it. 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
I recomend super.
It’s so fun you should try it I’m Filipino and I’m learning lots of words from Duolingo y’all should try it!!!!!!😍😍
Muy bueno
I like duo-lingo because it helps you learn different languages and you can even do music and math on there you should really try out duo lingo but sometimes it annoys me by keep asking if i want to have unlimited duo lingo and pay for it and i always say no but you should really try it if you want to learn different languages and do marh and learn music
Like Duolingo because I can communicate with more people now and I can learn a lot
Hi, this is the best learning app for people that whants to learn a new language I highly recommend this app.
Duolingo is a fun learning app for all kids and all ages. It’s good for an adult who are wanting to learn a new language. I really enjoyed my experience with Duolingo and I hope you guys try it too.
Only been using for 4 days and is really helping me learn :D
The best help for learning a language for me
Great! you guys are awesome creators!I love you! Thank you for making this BUT Duolingo push is terrible it’s not good even though it’s fake please fix it thanks for the fun language learning Duolingo
The best learning game in the world
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I’m learning so much a I just started
I know u want money, but after every lesson a video appears, if u can please get rid of the video thing but I do love this app!
This app is so fun and Duolingo double caked up
Best language learning app, Im semi fluent in polish and Its so much easier than going to a class!!
Duolingo music is great but just doing the piano is not ideal for everyone. Me personally is trying to learn the cello, but I can't do that. Please add more instruments. It would be a lot more convenient for more people.
I love duo but I cannot afford to pay about $60 a year for the extras.
I was given a trial of Max (though I'm paying for super at the moment), and I can confidently say that the difficulty of the exercises aren't nearly enough to justify the costs. Max is especially disappointing, as the roleplay is entirely scripted and doesn't adjust to your responses at all. In the free content, the choices are pathetically easy if you have even the slightest understanding of the language. Many alternate choices have nothing to do with the material you're covering, so there's no way to really check that you fully understand what you're picking for a response. I sincerely hope I can edit this one day to talk about how they increased the difficulty and the value of their product, but for now that isn't the case.
I have only been doing it for to days and I know a little Spanish
I’ve been using this app for more than six months, and for the most part it is well designed with categorized lessons. But for a couple weeks the app has frozen at the start of the unit, and no matter how often I send a flag noting the problem or send a message to support, it is neither fixed nor acknowledged. So I won’t be renewing this and will look for other ways to learn.
I was expecting a very slow going app since I hadn’t seen anything about it except that it’s a language app and I’ve been able to catch on super fast and teaches you really nice subject and covers everything to get you fluent in all the languages. Speaking of, it’s really nice how many languages are there, like I could learn a language 90% of the people don’t even know exist and they think I’m insane but nope, just learning some random language.
When my sister texted me ご飯 I translated it and it said meal when in Duolingo said it was rice so I’m confused( my nickname on my review is my username in Duolingo)
Hi
