Im not a language guy, at all. Although only a week into it, Im finding Duolingo to be the best resource Ive ever tried for actually learning a language, Spanish in this case. I even had a dream where I spoke a bit of Spanish last night.
After some time using other language apps, I returned to Duolingo and am glad I did! Now with the conversation bots, it keeps it interesting by utilizing both a formatted learning tree and a conversations section to use what youve learned. Ive been on my longest streak so far! My only request would be to show the total daily (and perhaps monthly/yearly) points on the mobile apps. It does let you know when youve met your daily goal, but it would be good to see how many points youve accumulated if you decide to continue with lessons that day. Perhaps it can be tucked under the daily streak number as a pull down? Also, accumulating points is great, but it would be nice if there were more things in the store to use the points. This doesnt change the fact that its a great language learning app - Ive recommended it to others. Thanks Duolingo!!
I have tried many other methods of learning Spanish. By far this is the best so far. UI is fun, aesthetic, and the information stays in my brain to easily practice with my Hispanic co-workers. Thank you much!
I am new to using this app and will update my review when I have more experience with it. Why three stars for an App I enjoy? Well, as I said, Im new to the App that came highly recommend by someone who has a lot of experience using the online/ desktop version for multiple languages. I subtracted one star because I am using it on my iPhone, so I do not receive the tips and notes. Because I travel frequently, this is an issue for me. Please add this feature to your mobile App.
This app is very user friendly. The lessons are comparable to the lessons youd receive from most language learning software, however this one is free. Exercises are concise but can get repetitive.
The pronunciation isnt always right, nor is the regional word usage, but its a pretty good app for learning language , especially for a free one
I am trying to learn Spanish and this app is fantastic for the job!!! Thanks Duolingo!!
Trying to keep my Spanish up to par.
I use this and the website and both are phenomenal as well as useful. I recommend it to anyone who wants to learn another language.
I have been using duo lingo webpage for years, the app is so much more enjoyable of an experience.
Havent gotten very far yet but I like it a lot so far. Its really easy and free! And I really feel like Im learning
I downloaded Duolingo with the motivation to learn French. A couple of weeks into it and Im more motivated than ever. Great community with a brilliant design and the learning really stocks. Its a joy to practice knowing so Ill be fluent in another language.
I like this app 1. Free, 2. Set up in sections of learning, 3. Able to practice what I have learned. Im working on Italian now, hoping to try other languages later on. Thanks for the free app!
I feel like this app glosses over verb forms, and if I try to exit a lesson to restart it, it takes me right back the one I couldnt get. (This is, by the way, in basic German)
See title above. Really a great app! Must have.
Duolingo is great! It feels like Im playing a game, but I learn something more every day.
Not sure what the point of paying to keep a streak alive is for. There is no incentive worth paying for doing so. Its only for deceiving yourself into thinking that you didnt miss a day.
I really like the way the lessons are taught but the pictures would be more helpful if they were related to the words.
It goes at my pace, but doesnt let me get behind. The reminders help me stay on track.
