Slightly annoying

Its a fine app but if I didnt have to practice a skill set EVERY FREAKING DAY thatd be nice. I get practice makes perfect but as soon as I meet my goal for the day suddenly I lose fluency in the vocab set I JUST finished...this update is making learning/relearning French absolute hell.

Fabulous app

This is almost as good as Rosetta Stone.

Great app

Using this to learn Hungarian and Im really enjoying it so far! The reminders are great to help keep me on track

Excellent

Great for learning a new language or reviewing one that you havent used in a long time

Now awful!

I miss Duolingo old times. Because now Every single day asking do you want to be premium ? Every course asking and this is killing me. Thank you for money app. Free English for Everyone Ha-Ha

Useful language learning

I enjoy the app so much with learning Japanese. Thank you for fixing the store area. I reward you a 5 star for it. Thanks again.

Great app for learning spanish

If you are totally new it might be too fast, but I am learning super quick and love it!

Very useful

Has really helped me to review the Russian I took years ago. The approach isnt to tell you grammar rules, but to show you and give you practice and get you to draw conclusions based on examples.

Best Spanish learning tool

Ive taken years of Spanish (high school and college). 20 years later I picked up this tool and catching on a lot quicker; understanding more Spanish. Excellent learning tool! Highly recommend!

not good

this app does not give explanations about why something is wrong so you are left guessing. then it gives you weird vocabulary to learn and no way to skip them

Keeps getting worse

Every new update keeps making this app worse. I used to love it to keep up on Spanish and learn Italian but changing wear to click to get out of the ad page to just push people to pay you is another low blow in a string of horrible decisions by this company. Just go back to the simple, old system.

LAME

Why cant we have a lot of lifes I mean really

Great but needs additions

Please can you add English to Arabic since Arabic to English is already an option. Ive been wanting to learn Arabic for a while now and Ive found this making me think that I maybe able to accomplish my long time goal Thank you?

Redundant password entry

Every app that requires me to repeatedly enter my password only gets a one star rating

The best mobile way to learn a language

The ability to use this app in any local allows one to learn anywhere your phone works. Excellent program.

Great app! But...

I love the conversations and the simplicity! But the lives... those things are making me mad. I get a few wrong and I have to wait three days to continue!

Trying to Keep Skills Golden

I had Spanish in high school and am using this app as a refresher, as well as to some more. The greatest annoyance, by far, is how fast skills go down. Its unrealistic that I need to suddenly review 5 skills after around 12 hours of inactivity, when I just reviewed them back to gold the last time I was on. Then there are times when I wont have Internet access for around 3 days, and Ill have to do a months worth of reviewing. Id end up repeating and reviewing the same three to five skills for weeks, and they still wouldnt stay gold for at least two days. Thus, my progress through the course is slowed significantly, lest I decide to ignore all the skills dropping from gold. At that rate, Id imagine youd want me to review "Basics 1" when Im done learning the last available skill? Maybe if I ignore all my skills going down from gold, I can try the chats with bots? Id put 5 or 4 stars, but the unrealistic frequency of reviewing is a major downside to using this app. The health system is fine and understandable. Just please: improve the review frequency. That aside, if you really dont mind constantly reviewing (or seeing skills fade away from gold), Duolingo is a fantastic app to use to learn/relearn a language. Currently, Im using the app to master Spanish and learn Japanese. Btw, for Japanese, please add the feature that allows us to hear the speaker slowly, if youre not going to put furigana. And I look forward to the day the Japanese course gets listening, speaking, and actual writing (typing) exercises.

Free language learning

Great supplement for speaking to native speakers and traveling

For the money it cant be beat

Great product. Love the chat bots.
