Duolingo Learn Many Languages for Free App Reviews

I absolutely love this app. However, there are things that could be improved. When doing the "choose the word" assignment with the three choices, it would be nice if when choosing a verb, they were more specific. For example, the word "lees" the correct answer is "you read," but the only correct choice would be "read." It would be more helpful, in my opinion, doing it with the option "you read" to further cement verb conjugation in my brain. Especially with past/future tenses. Also, the repetitive questions. I wish they could mix up the questions. I find myself memorizing them. Im not sure if Im actually learning the language or just memorizing these random sentences. Overall, though, thank you for this app! ?

Give another language a go with this entertaining and motivational app!

The new change that required health practice is discouraging and will be the reason I leave the app for Memrise or until Duolingo fixes it. Sometimes there are audio questions that dont allow me to skip and I cant answer them due to being in a silent environment so I lose health several times. I dont want to do the same level over and over for an hour while health builds up. And because of this I cant hop to a new language to start basic skills because it required health, and the only way I can get health is practicing old skills - if its a new language Ive ever done any skill sets yet so its impossible. Terrible update, needs to go back to how t used to be or else this is just another micro transaction game like FarmVille. Used to recommend but do not anymore and will tell people why.

Two mistakes and you cant proceed for hours without buying "health." I switched to Memrise because it seems to encourage you through mistakes.

I really enjoy using this app.

Ive been using this app to learn French for about a year. Before now I would strongly recommend it to anyone, and Im not usually one to complain about ads. However after EVERY lesson they pop up now. Its way too much.

This app is pretty good. Using it for Japanese. The only things I notice is that there are no Katakana lessons or Kanji. I also with they had you draw the symbols so you would remember them more easily.

I love this app so much! I got sick of learning Japanese from books, so this helps so much more! One small issue is that when I try to click on the club icon at the bottom of the screen, or the lingot shop, it lags out and closes me out of the app. When I reopen the app its fine, but it just closes every time I try to click on them. Its no problem since I dont use clubs or the store really at all. Other then that, its great! Thanks so much developers!???

I really like this app a lot, its helped me with my German and I really appreciate that but one problem I have is that I loose strength bars in a short amount of time. And its really annoying because I have to do the same lesson everyday and its gets repetitive and boring, sure repetition helps us get words stuck on our brains but I would recommend that we drop down on strength bars 4 times a week not everyday.

Fun and easy to learn!

Im using Duolingo on my iPod Touch. It crashes and boots me out when Im in the Japanese course, and I try to go into the Store. Also, the website says where I can find Duolingo Plus in the Store. But Ive looked in the Store in each course Im taking and Ive never been able to find the link to buy it. I send bug report after bug report, and nothing happens.

I have been using duolingo to learn some french. Every time i go into the app i have more bars gone from what i have learned. There for i have to basically do over the lesson. All that says to me is that you will never advance unless you spend all your time on this app. When i had this app before there was no bar system and i worked great. I think this is just a way to get people to buy your gems so they can continue on playing. In that case just make it a paid app. And cut out all the other BS.

Why did they have hearts I cant play until 4h and something minutes

With the growth of popularity without the Kpop fandom, Im certain many people would love to learn the language as easily and as conveniently as this app permits us to learn Japanese, German, etcetera.

Ive been wanting to learn Spanish for some time now but really havent had time to enroll in classes. I love that I can put in time here and there learning with this app. Its easy to use and I look forward to meeting my goals each day.

Im an instructional designer and I love this app. Its very well done and meets multiple learning styles. That being said, Ive come across a number of errors (in the Spanish course) and now Im unable to move forward in both the regular lessons and the lessons to gain more health. This can easily be solved by ensuring more rigorous quality assurance testing before you make the lessons live and/or responding more quickly to reported errors.

Great app. Truly effective. Deserves a five star rating although some small improvements can be planned on the interface

I use this app to learn French and Spanish and it is so helpful. I love that you can be in a club and share your progress. But, I hate the health bar system. It gets annoying how it prevents you to continue the lesson when you run out of health. People are being babies about the ads; theres only one after each lesson and you can choose to watch an ad to refill one bar of your health. But I like this app !

The health bar is terrible. Can barely get through a lesson with that thing. Im trying to learn a new language, not practice something Ive known for years please remove it.
