Duolingo Learn Many Languages for Free App Reviews

It just changed languages. Now it thinks I speak Greek, and I dont even know how to change it back cuz i cant read Greek.

I speak 5 languages, and while this app may be free you pay with wasted time. Dont use if you want to learn a language.

Such garbage that before when you used this you could go all day learning a new language but now if you miss 5 answers you lose health and then you have to wait. The greed is obvious with these trashy micro transactions. You had a great system before and now its pure and utter crap. Im deleting this as soon as I submit the review.

Im really enjoying the Spanish lessons, but Id love to see Czech language made available!

Add Mandarin please!

The "youve run out of hearts" feature is just a shameless ploy to earn money. Russian listening exercises are way too fast.

Im a longtime user of the Duolingo iOS mobile app. Ive been a user since summer 2015. I use to love this app and would suggest it to anyone, however, the recent changes to the app have been troubling. The increase in the number of ads on the app was at first a minor annoyance, but now the ads are shown constantly. The worst recent change has been the addition of the health bar system. It prevents me from completing even a single lesson when beginning a new language, or when practicing a language that I havent studied for a while. As such, Ive stopped using this app almost entirely. The ads and the health bar system are extremely unpopular within the Duolingo community, but the devs seem to ignore the communitys feedback. Try Memrise instead, its at least free and allows you to make learning mistakes.

Im a person who learns better through multiple forms (audio, visual, etc.) and when duolingo gives me the exercise to form a sentence with given characters, when tapped, the recorded voice doesnt give me the sound and it really throws me off and makes it harder to memorize; especially since you cant go back to that one specific character or sentence by itself to study and practice it. Another thing, when translating a sentence to English and the exercise I just spoke about before, it give two different versions -- both still correct technically -- of the sentence; so while I can easily translate the former to English because of the easily recognizable character watashi, I dont remember the other. And neither sentence gets used in the other exercise.

I created a profile on my computer. Now Duolingo wants me to create a profile on my iPad, but says the email address is already in use. Well, no kidding its mine. Why isnt there a sign in option for someone who already has a profile, so I can study on my computer as well as sometimes on my iPad. Im not able to move on to the next lesson without a way to sign in!!

I was initially upset with the delay for Swahili but now that its here Im excited. Maybe Ill update to 5 stars after a few lesson plans.

First, I dont like how the bots are limiting what you can say. Example: Im learning french… I want to say, "Je suis vraiment en pizza!" But instead I can only say, "Jaime les pâtes" or something along those lines! Its infuriating!! Second,

I was wondering if I was going crazy by seeing the health system today and having to recharge and after reading reviews I am glad to see I am not alone. Why to punish people for trying to learn. I used to praise this app, but now I dont know if I want to keep it.

It would be better to charge something for the app that tell you suddenly that you have to stop because you "dont have energy".

Duoling used to be a great app, but ever since health was added, I got really frustrated whenever I lost health and had to gain it back. Duolingo also began lagging A LOT

I used to use this as a primary means to study outside of my class and textbook but this new health system is inherently flawed and slows down progress immensely. It is an awful attempt to get extra cash from customers. If there were an option for a premium service without the ads and health system then Im all for it because the material is wonderful.

On an educational app... id wish i never updated the app.

Unable to move forward because Im being told my correct answer is wrong. Wont let me move forward. Have reported same error numerous times over past few MONTHS. Never gets fixed.

Dont use. Its a waste of time now.

I really love the app but I hate how if you runout of lives it takes forever to get to do a lesson because of it. Duolingo please fix this... your app will be much much more enjoyable if you do and please add Latvian as a language and Albanian I was disappointed to see that those werent on there. Please do take my advice/ The app is great otherwise❤️

Rich and cute is obviously not the same thing!!
