Duolingo Learn Many Languages for Free App Reviews

If you are trying to learn a language, this is perfect for you. Especially considering they have a practice mode to refresh your memory if you arent able to participate on a daily basis. 10/10

This is supposed to be a learning tool. However, if you make mistakes while learning you lose health and must wait 5 hours to get 1 health point back. I get it that they want you to pay them money to be able to use it but waiting for 5 hours to be able to use the app again is frustrating. The goal appears to be to get you to pay them money every day to use their app.

I would love to give this app more stars, but its insanely frustrating when you are correctly translating and speaking the phrase into the mic and youre constantly told youre wrong until you run out of health and are forced to buy more. The only solution to this is to always tell the device that youre unable to speak at that moment and go on with the lesson, which shouldnt be necessary. Ive tried this with Apple earbuds as well and the problem is the same. Is my voice simply too confusing for the app? I dont know, but its some bulldogs spit. Update and fix please.

I love using this app overall but my one issue is that if you press the "practice" lesson, it only targets one area that youre low on such as animals or adjectives. It never builds off of what you learned so I feel like Im not getting a good, complicated lesson.

I like this app a lot. I seem to have tons of problems with the app when it talks and asks me to write what it says. (In Spanish). Every time I write it correctly it tells me its wrong. Please fix this. Otherwise I would use it more often. The fact that it has this wrong, makes me want to delete it.

You guys should add ASL to the languages you can learn! That would be awesome!

Duolingo is a great app. Its incredibly useful for those wanting to learn any language quickly. It starts you off easy and then you work your way to the more complex words, sentences and phrases. Additionally, it doesnt shove ads in your face like the other apps here. I highly recommend!

I love Duolingo! It is very well done. As a young child I spoke Dutch but never learned proper grammar and spelling. This is a fun way for me to learn.

Please add the language Russian to learn

I love this app. The only thing I would change is explaining the rules of every lesson before starting the practice

Makes learning a language fun. A few gripes (1) the speech recognition is not good; (2) the practice reminders are not useful if they cant be customized. Why cant I do this from the app!

Most engaging and enjoyable way I have found so far to learn Spanish. Kid friendly too!

This is the most fun Ive ever had learning foreign languages. Set your own pace, and it tells you if youve reached your daily goal or not. Automatically takes you back to review old material to make sure you remember it. The pace is gradual, but not dumbed down. Ive actually tackled a couple of languages Ive been putting off. For the price, you should definitely give it a try.

I really love this app but I wish it had more languages to choose from like Korean, Arabic or mandarin.

The app is a great learning tool. Its a good portable resource for learning a new language.

Decent language learning app. It doesnt really help you get conversational, but its a great introduction to a language. The app does have a "Bots" section that is SUPPOSED TO allow you to interact more naturally with the words you learn, but it only allows a very few words to choose from. It basically forces you to guess the response that the programmer had in mind when writing it. Of course you can always give up and press the help button, but then you dont earn any points for that response. Very frustrating.

While this app can certainly bring you to fluency, when paired with other supplements it shines the most. You can be taking a course at school or online for a language, but you can really understand the intricacies of a language with this app.
