Duolingo Learn Many Languages for Free App Reviews

The lessons and quizzes are great for learning a new language. I only wish it had Japanese and you could download the lessons for offline learning.

As an off and on user for about 2 years. I can honestly say this is the best platform for learning and its done correctly I have retained more over the years of me working just for fun with this than years in school !

Learning a new language through mini games... who wouldve thought itd be so fun. And I love the sensitivity towards how actual humans use it. I.e. Realistic expectations of daily goals. And explanations for why ads are necessary

You only have 5 lives. You cannot learn anything, or progress in it. There is no point to get this app.

I love the Duolingo platform and mobile app, and have been using it for years. But Im deeply disappointed in the ads that have started popping up after completing a lesson. This for two reasons. First, that theyre there at all - it seems contrary to the spirit of Duolingo, and didnt they promise there would be no ads? But the second reason is that the ads are straight out of tabloid and spam-mail trash: celebrity news, home loan promotions, even an infidelity-tracking service! Kids use this app! I dont know which possibility is worse - that everyone is seeing these ads, or that theyre targeted to my age. Either way, this is wildly inappropriate. I know Duolingo needs to make money, but surely there are better ways than trashy ads served up while Im practicing how to say "the penguin drinks milk." I believe they already had such ways on their website. Whats going on with you, Duo?

I love this app! Ive been learning Spanish for the past 3 months and Im happy with the progress Ive made so far.

I would like it more if the software were better at voice recognition

Duelingo has been around for awhile and made lots of improvements along with lots of other languages. For common learned second languages it helps with some indirect syntax lessons and expansive vocabulary. So overall one of the best free language learning apps.

Overall, it is a good app. But there is one thing that I dont like, which is the fact that you cant use some of the features from the web version. I really think that the flash cards are the most interesting and helpful part of duolingo. But you cant access them on the app, and if you have it installed, you cant go to them because you are automatically redirected to the app. Please add these other functions to the app, or have it ask before immediately redirecting to the app. It also tends to bug out when you are disconnected from the Internet, blocking progression and not playing audio.

This app is brilliant and useful and a fun way to learn new languages

I finish a section go onto the next complete it then find some of an earlier section wiped out. Very, very frustrating.

The best teaching languages app ever created. Really helps me out to fix words in my mind. Duolingo Rocks! Plus, I really LOVED the new BOT section for IOS. EXCELLENT work Duolingo team. Please continue improving it! Halloween themes outstanding.

This app is a great support to learn new languages and I am learning a lot of Spanish and French with this app. Please add Punjabi language too, its a very great language and itll be a great help to me and everyone who wants to learn Punjabi. U guys r rocking thanks.

This app is great! It starts with easier words, then it gets harder. I have been learning Spanish and I really love it! Plus, there are no ads that pop up every 5 seconds. You can also do some lessons without wifin!

This app helps a lot with learning languages! Its simplistic in design and use, easy to work with. The only thing is that id love to learn Korean, mostly to understand k-dramas and k-pop songs but also because I want to as a personal interest. Sadly as far as I can tell there is no option for learning Korean as a English speaker. Please please please work on this as an option! Im sure me and many more people would graciously thank you!

I was on a 326 day streak. I had a steak freeze in place and you burned me, for once it didnt work. Now I have to start all over again. You didnt even give me an option to buy back my streak like you did with others. Not happy. Wrote support an email and no response. Wont be using this app anymore. You need to give me back my streak and try responding back to your loyal customers.

Please improve the Russian course, it is great but not as refined and easy to hear as Spanish.

It has practices and pronunciations for you to practice. Sometimes its not accurate when you say it and can tell you that youre wrong even though you are correct

I feel its a good app, people can learn new language, but it seems to be some errors when it comes to do some examples of translation, well I had couple miss understanding when it comes to translate sentences. I dont know. I have a screenshot that shows the error. Anyway still a good app. Please Improve on those little details.

Im quickly picking up German phrases and words and feel like Im gaining good ground for learning this language. I wish that the grammar information on the Duolingo website was available within the app itself, but other than that this is a must have for anyone learning a new language.
