Duolingo Learn Many Languages for Free App Reviews

I just wanted to ask that you add a variety more languages such as Arabic and many other languages that are hard to master.

Duolingo makes a game up of learning a new language. I am developing more confidence in writing and reading; All that is missing is more opportunity to speak in the new language.

I stopped using this a while back, but restarted it because I thought I needed to give it another chance. It is annoying that it does not include an expanding vocabulary. I know how to say rich and calm in French, but that wont get me far when I am traveling to France in June. I dont need to know animals as much as I need to order food in a restaurant or get directions. So I am slogging along, reading a French-English dictionary on the side , and looking forward to eventually learning the survival skills for French.

It takes a difficult topic such as languages, and turns it into a game that dies in fact work. Im better able to communicate with my family as a result. M

The iPad version works like a champ. Doesnt help much with grammar, but it gives you a nice variety of learning methods.

Very helpful with learning a small bit of vernacular. Interface is delightfully designed.

Love it and there are a lot of options to choose from.

This app is an amazing resource for language learning. However, the app has gone down hill over the past year or too. First of all, the concept of "learning through a game" is totally gone. They no longer have lives which you lose for missed answers, and the rewards for completing things cant keep anyone motivated. There are only a few things you can buy so once you have bought all of them, which does not take long at all, there is nothing else you can do with you virtual currency. Also, duolingo will not let people simply donate. They have to lose a streak or buy the ad cleaner which costs $10 PER MONTH. Hope duolingo comes back uphill.

I have used Duolingo for a couple years now and and was so disappointed to see a sexually explicit ad for a game called "Choices:***" which was preceded by the message "This ad helps keep education free". Knowing that my children use this app in their language programs at school, I cant believe that the app developers would allow such an ad to show up within their app. It featured a woman walking in on her naked husband in bed with another woman. It offered the wife role player a set of choices: smash everything or storm out. I was just dumbfounded by this obvious lack of regard for our children.

Duolingo gamifies language learning, turning what was once a maddening task into an accessible and fun endeavor. I use Duolingo, my brother uses Duolingo, my coworkers use Duolingo, even the Peace Corps wants new volunteers to study on Duolingo! Do yourself a favor and download this app, and turn your game time into productive days.

I really like this app. Easy to use. I like that I am able to go back and practice any skill and that it even checks my pronunciation. Highly recommended this.

I really love this app. Ive wanted to learn Spanish for years. I thought about buying the Rosetta Stone program but thought I wouldnt really sit down at a computer and use it. Duolingo is so easy and convenient I really do it. The fact that it was free is just mind boggling. In the words of a famous Alka-Selzer (what?) commercial of years ago, "Try it, youll like it!"

Excellent app! Ive learned a lot and only have few minutes to do it everyday... its so practical and accommodating. I highly recommend this app!
