Absolutely phenomenal!

Im in high school taking French class right now. I only have 1 and a half years of French and my teacher tells me that I am an amazing student and I speak and write very well! I use Duolingo extensively because I really love learning language. I am going to start Spanish next year too, and I have already started learning a lot without even being in a class! But you have to actually practice and use it in order to learn. The only thing I wish was an option is typing only. I feel I do better when I can type it. Like on the computer, it is much better to practice typing so you get the hang of spelling.

Bonjour

This is a great app! I wish I had known about it a year ago when I use it daily and enjoy it so much that now I am looking to take a French class just so that I can immerse myself and really learn the language. The only reason for the 4 stars is that some of the words they present dont have a French speaker pronouncing them, so I dont know how its supposed to sound, and its frustrating. This is a useful and well presented app for an introduction or a refresher to a language.

So far great!

Found out about this app through the "time well spent site", been trying to learn german for long and this is a fantastic way to finally do it.

Wow

Im learning French right now and honestly merci beaucoup!

Really enjoying using this app!

Ive only been doing this for a few days now to learn Portuguese - Im the English-speaking pastor of a church that is quickly going bilingual with our increase in Brazilian members and I want to speak well with them in their native language as they learn English from us. This app is making that knowledge assimilation much easier than Id expected it to be. Thank you and keep up the good work!

Best Language App, But A Few Tweaks...

Im really enjoying this app, it truly does help you to learn rather than memorizing words and forgetting them the next day. I wish there were more Asian languages as I am also trying to learn Korean. My only suggestions are one, to have the option to reintroduce new words. When you start a new lesson, there are little pop ups that give you a little lesson on what the words mean. When you retake the same lesson, that pop up goes away. Second, it would be nice to have some sort of short cut to go back to. Say you get some words confused but you dont want to go back to the entire lesson to learn it, but be able to write it down in some notes and have the option to click on that during lessons to refer to. I hope that makes sense, I think that would be really useful though.

Good, but...

Lots of good things about this app but definitely room for improvement. At the higher levels of the app you are just thrown into the translations without any pre-learning of the new phrase. This makes it VERY frustrating and makes the lesson take much longer than it should. Also, when reviewing sections there seems to be a lot of new phrases or variations of words that were learned. Again, this makes the review frustrating and difficult to complete. Lastly, for common phrases that have a specific gender (when learning Spanish), it would be helpful to have a better explanation as to why an answer was wrong rather than simply a red wrong answer pop-up. Other than that the app is awesome and has REALLY helped me achieve my goals of learning a new language.

Learning French

I dont have a good ear for foreign languages, and French always seems so hard to distinguish individual words. But through the lessons and then the reviewing of vocabulary and constructs in later lessons I think that Im really starting to get it. Good product!

Love it!

This app has helped immensely in addition to taking a college level Spanish class. The only issue Ive found is that when you Im asked to speak back the microphone works sporadically. Highly recommended!

Add sign language

You should expand this with an option to learn sign language!

Great app for kids (adults, too)!

Just stumbled across this app recently and its great! Been trying to get my 11-year-old to learn a few French phrases for our upcoming trip and she hasnt been motivated by the book I got for her. She loves this app and does some every day! Im using it to brush up on my French, too. And my 9-year-old is trying the Spanish version to supplement her Spanish classes at school.

Great app

Im just starting to learn French and love to be able to listen the correct way to pronounce the language and that I can learn aty own pace

Great

Very easy interface to use, and have many different languages to choose from. Also have a lot of neat little features that help novitiate you to learn a new language. I would recommend to anybody

studied French for 10 yrs on and off

Duolingo has been an amazing tool for brushing up on my French. The pronunciation isnt always the most accurate so this could be detrimental for folks new to the language or without formal classes.

Mr

Great!

Never had any issues. Great way of learning

FIVE STARS!!!!!

I LOVE Duolingo! It helps me learn different languages, but it seems like a game. Right now Im learning German, and its so easy! Once I master German with Duolingo, I can move on to another language. There are so many languages to choose from, and you can learn multiple at a time!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
