duolingo is honestly the best app if youre trying to learn a language. not only is it super easy, but i actually look forward to using this app and sometimes find myself practicing on it for hours. i wouldve given it 5 stars but i have a suggestion that can make this app even better. i think there should be a new feature where the duolingo bird is a chatbot-like thing that speaks the language youre learning and you have to respond in that language. itll help prepare people for real-life conversations in the language and i think thats really important. thanks in advance, and keep up the good work! ?
Great app for getting your feet wet in new languages! Cant wait for Traditional Chinese Mandarin to come out!
I LOVE this app- been using it for several years now and it makes learning a language so easy and fun! The newer languages need a little help yet, though... it would really be nice to HEAR the Hebrew spoken when youre learning new words because the alphabet is (obviously) not roman and there are several words that I still have NO idea how to pronounce because, over many lessons, theyve never been spoken. The same goes for Irish (though I know this one is very new). The "chat" feature is awesome but Id like to talk about something other than holidays all the time... like maybe whats for dinner, what pets you have, meeting characters family, etc. also love the language club- its great to see the progress my sister is making and encourage her and our friends. Thanks for a terrific learning experience and keep those updates coming! ?
In the span of two weeks I went from 5% fluent in Spanish, to 25% fluent. The updated text robot thing is amazing and this app is a great learning tool for anyone who wants to be bilingual but cant do it just in a class or from a book.
I am learning a language to travel, and Ive found that much of the content in interested in takes a long time to unlock. The content I can reach is very well presented and just repetitive enough to help me learn quickly. The software is responsive and nicely arranged.
This is a great app, well designed!
Im from a small town where French classes arent easily available, but now I finally have access to it! Its so simple it feels like youre playing a game, but youre also learning something new! Would recommend!
I love this app. Now I have something worth while to fill my time at the Dr or BMV
The UX/UI of this app is flawless!
This app is truly excellent. I really love how it has all of these lessons, plans, reminders and what not to really help you drive home each section and and to really learn the language youre trying to learn. What I also love is the fact that it has a nice, clean, and easy to use interface with no difficulty whatsoever. And above all I just absolutely love how it utilizes both of voice and text, it is absolutely incredible. My only gripe and why this did not get a full five stars is simply due to a couple languages not been integrated mainly those of Asian orientation. If this app could get Korean, Japanese, or Chinese that would be absolutely phenomenal.
Ive been using Duolingo to learn Greek for the past few weeks and have made leaps and bounds. It is a simple way to learn vocabulary and grammar in short, digestible lessons. Highly recommended.
Doesnt beat a book and 4 hours study regimens, but its a nice tool to add to your language study toolbox.
soo.. the app is cool, i mean, the idea is plain awesome, but there are some technical difficulties that can kill the experience, especially if the app is being used by a child. by that i mean, for example, pronunciation audios that are sometimes played too late or are simply nonexistent (they wouldnt play at all). and the pictures are not always accurate, especially for mass nouns or abstract terms — so if you dont know the word you cant really guess which one that is. now, the translations/solutions are not always correct — there have to be language experts who are able to check and approve/decline the course proposal. i could be one, by the way :D im sure there are enthusiastic people who will even do it for free (and still make a high-quality product). then, not every language course has the chats (that are quite helpful!). ..anyway, i still absolutely love the app and use it for both teaching and learning.
This is such a great app!
I started as a complete novice in Spanish. I had no prior experience. My objective is to learn the language for travel. The app has been great. It makes it very easy to do some practice every day. Ive learned a lot and it has been fun.
I cant believe this app is free. I love it and it has been such a great resource. I did take Spanish in college, so this is mainly a refresher, BUT, I thought I had forgotten everything. This has been tremendously helpful and informative.
I remember how difficult learning a new language was when I first immigrated to US. If I had an app like this, Id have so much fun while learning. Also its available for free!
I would love to try this app but sadly it doesnt have Japanese
Thankful for this app! Its helped me keep up with my Spanish and French!
